Coos Bay Shorebirds



Red Knot is largest bird, shown along with Dunlins. Bill is about as long as diameter of head (which is shorter and less drooping and pointed than Dunlin bills). Through scope, Red Knot appeared more gray overall than Dunlins. Nearby Black-bellied Plovers were larger than the Red Knot. Thanks to Tim Rodenkirk for report in OBOL in recent days, and for directions to Pigeon Point.
