At Seaside Cove, New Years Day 2019. Chilly day, 37 degrees f, but lots of surfers are out. This may be the same Rock Sandpiper that I saw over a month ago on 11/20/18.

Bottom photo shows Surfbird for comparison. Note that the spots on the breast of the Rock Sandpiper go all the way up to the throat, and the bill of the Rock Sandpiper is longer and more pointed.
