During our Cannon Beach First Sunday monthly birdwalk on Oct. 1, another birder alerted us to an unusual bird on the beach. We went to check it out, and found this juvenile Sandhill Crane! It was standing on the beach at the mouth of Ecola Creek, among the seagulls.
